I have been known to stay up all night (well until half past five or six in the morning) to finish work. I have also been known to send emails to people at that time sorting out things for the following day

I find that the most effective way to finish work is to stop. These days I try to do so before 6am.

Not always possible when the deadline is later that afternoon. I get them finished at least and of reasonable quality. In future though I will be more organised(fingers crossed)

Ah yes, deadlines - I can remember when they used to mean something. But these days I'm an IT professional, and nobody seems to take them seriously in this industry.

No-one takes our deadlines too seriously, they're almost all finished the night before they're due in. Or the morning 
As little time as possible is wasted on them
