Me: Just like a Christmas pudding, very rich, a little sweet and pretty powerful. I don't often get on with Christmas beers, but this works fairly well for me

Beatrice: Love the colour, ruby red, lovely flavour - if I could find a pair of shoes this colour, I'd buy them. Nothing on the nose, pleasant and complex taste

Gosho: If you open a tin of tomato puree... very strong concentrated tomato smell stout>

Me: All the right flavours, just not quite in the right order. Even so, I reckon it's pretty damn good. I'd look out for this

B: I do like this - a very nice beer. Woody, oaky, piney flavour. The best of the US beers tonight

Beatrice: Like a brand new pair of 30-denier tights just as you take them out of the packet. Bit of chocolate on the taste, but not driving me wild

Good grief! Let me recover from this one first.

I was disappointed to find no beer in my house when we got home.

So I'm consoling myself with a bottle or two of Rioja in the knowledge that it's half-term.

I was left with a couple of gifts by Gosho, and thanks to his tinkering with the beer fridge they're at just the right temperature. And I still have the unopened bottle of Black Bush that I forgot to tell 2heads about.
