I dread to mention this but..........
The last time a team from this level defeated a team from tier one of the English League was in 1989 when Sutton United knocked out Coventry City.
Millwall haven't changed - Coventry played them the same day as this match - trouble before the game - when they must have fancied their chances given our form at home - trouble after the game, and trouble in the evening in town. Always been trouble.

I love this entry, really captures the famous 'romance of the FA Cup'. I'm no great football fan (such interests as I do have also lie at Plainmoor) but there's nothing so enjoyable in the modern game as a lower league team on a giant-killing run.
Only one suggestion, for overseas and younger reader perhaps the reference to dear old Eddie Waring might need a footnote?

Thanks McKay. I remember when Portsmouth drew them a couple of years ago - the Millwall yobs ambushed the travelling fans in a pub at Waterloo and attacked them with pool balls.
Thanks Parrferris - much appreciated. I've added a BBC link to the great man.

A "giantkilling" piece that doesn't mention Sunderland beating Leeds in 1973. For that alone, this gets full marks!

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Hi there Icy - sorry it's taken so long for a Sub to get their hands on this. The Entry's at A32364308 and lies more or less unchanged apart from an obligatory mention of the Forest-Arsenal link from the 1890s.

Hi Alex
Nice job! I didn't know that about the Arsenal shirts.
A few things have happened since I wrote it - Liverpool being knocked out by Barnsley for one thing. I think it needs an epilogue, but maybe I should write it at the end of the season (The Hawks are still outsiders for promotion too).
Send it back to the Eds and I'll work on an end-of-season update in May.
