Being a pednat I noticed that the bandstand is in Kensington Gardens and not Hyde Park. I probably started this misunderstanding when I suggested meeting at the Albert Memorial.

Is the bandstand in Kennsington Gardens I was sure last time I did the hyde park relays I ran past it. Could be mistaken though.

There is a band stand in both - being seperate parks. The Hyde Park Band Stand is near Apsley House and Hyde Park Corner - if you look on any A-Z it is clearly marked. Look at the SW corner of the park!

I knew it, I just didn't have my A-Z handy at work yesterday. 
Also I knew it was too far over to be Kennsington Palace as the race turns at the west end of the Serpentine.
