So does anyone know any good and not outrageously expensive sleeping quarters?

No ideas for accomodation. You could try the lonely planet web page whatevert the address is.
Is anyone going to meet up at the Albert Memorial at 12?
My mobile is 0467 225365

What about the YMCA? There's a really nice one in Wimbledon. They must have a web site somewhere...

How odd - a traffic cop, a cowboy, a red Indian and a construction worker have all turned up to the party!

the london ymca is over here...
http://www.londoncityymca.free-online.co.uk/
They charge £27.07 per person per night, including breakfast. What would be nice though is if someone living in London said "What the heck, everyone's invited back to mine!" But I can't see that happening

As I live in a bedsit I'd be somewhat cramped to invite you all back to mine (much as I might like to).
You could always try the YHA as an alternative to the YMCA. They have several hostels in London. http://www.yha.org.uk for details. There are also various hostels for international travellers (usually people from Australia, NZ or SA) though I don't know about those.

Dr Vibenstein. Do I have to spell everything in Braille? Email me. I live in Greater London.

Have checked out the YHA site Some good info on there! What are the chances of us getting a group together and maybe aiming for this one! Even with the membership fees it is still much cheaper then an hotel! Just think of the fun to be had! A whole group of h2g2ers taking over a hostel!!:
Look here: http://www.yha.org.uk/hostel_index.htm

Is there anywhere to stay for a researcher who hasn't enough money to stay anywhere that charges more than 50p?
