Well your car reg might work. Has the random factor and letters and numbers, but still you better not tell anyone "I use my car reg for my password!"
Scary to think how many passwords anbd PINs we "need" though. Like, do we *really* need 3 email accounts, 4 bank/credit/debit cards, accounbts with every online book store, etc. Just leads to forgetting what PIN is for what card etc.

My biggest problem is where many systems within the corporation use the same "name" for your ID (eg [email protected]), but each of these systems has different security management databases, so although the ID is always the same, it isn't the same ID!

Yeah, I've noticed that a lot of internet sites have your ID/username as your email address. At least then if you only have one that you'll use then you won't forget it.
If I'm honest I try and keep my password the same for everything coz I don't want to forget it. But then you get ones that insist on it being a bit longer or having a umber in it, so I've wound up with 3 different things and find I forget what one if I go to a site I don't use much.

Perhaps subtle variations on the same password are permissible - the version I use on the BBC boards is not the one I use elsewhere, although it's almost the same set of characters.

I'm just always scared of ijventing a new one and forgetting what it was or what account I use it for. So insane. Though doubt it could easily be hacked by people I know, let alone strangers. It's specific, with a twist.
