A Conversation for Talking Point: Getting Back in Touch with Old Friends

The girl from Ohio

Post 1

John Luc

For the past two or three years I have known a beautiful girl in Ohio via the Internet. I live across the country, so meeting and hanging out with her is very difficult. Yet, we managed to stay good friends for quite a while, despite a very large hiccup (more like a belch where just a bit of bile rises to the top of your throat - enjoy your soup!) that nearly destroyed it all. After that things were very strained but Time popped his head in and allowed some of the wounds to heal and fade away. Not all of them could, though, and it seemed like she "picked" at them a lot and made them bleed and hurt again. She was also quite moody and seemed very cool towards me. This wasn't the girl I met back in 2001...
I finally had enough of her mood swings last week when she sent me an email flame over a small request. So I have not spoken to her in over a week. I miss her terribly but there are some times when one must let go of bad relationships in order to allow better ones to flourish. It hurts - you have no idea how much it hurts - but slowly the pain will recede.
This may sound stupid and childish, but I hope and pray that she might see a doctor of some sort and get medicine to help her relax and ease her moodiness. The blue pills I'm rather fond of, but the little white ones with the "v" etched in are quite enjoyable. Anyway...should that day come I will gladly run to her side so that we might rebuild our friendship again. That, and to mix some drinks. That chick was one of my favorite drinking buddies. *sigh*
