that's great TC !
when you're alone and you now it's gonna stay like this
and you' re best friends want to get rid of you
you wish to hit the world like a star
and do something really big
but all you do is take a rest from life
all you need is the luck to be sad
child of sartorius come back to the
secret society of the melancholic social club
btw, i dreamt Lassie was singing this to me last night

You can call me TC Posted Apr 1, 2001
What would Freud have to say about that?
And what is that song?
Not a minority!
ringo (it's not all right) Posted Apr 1, 2001
thank god i never cared what Freud said
and if the song would not be totally differnt it might be from the 'Lassie Singers'
(and i hated conditional phrases at school)
...and the moderator says thirty cent more for the next three lyrics...

well, I don't know what you are talking about right now ... just want to say that I'm not really happy about writing in english here, BUT if they work on this I think I can wait a bit.
on the other hand ... hasn't the weather changed in a good way ...

Hihihihi...
You know what ?
the whole affair reminds me of the old hysteria about satanical messages which appear if you play heavy-metal LPs backwards. I must admit that I am very amused about the confuse situation...
Oh wait, I got some funny ideas.. the next posting from me will contain nonsense only which is neither english nor german nor any language at all. Let's see how they cope with this...

This is not a good idea.
What this *does* is get totally up the nose of the Community Editor. This post was referred to me. This is a total waste of *my* time *and* the moderators. I have better things to do than play stupid moderation games with you on site. If you do this again you will be barred from h2g2 for anti-social behaviour. Okay, understand *that*?
...won't happen again...
Jhos the Left Ear (help to build the Library of Dreams at A535899 !) Posted Apr 3, 2001
Okay, I admit that wasn't that clever...
I'm sorry for wasting your time and asure you it won't happen again...
SORRY... TLEOTG
...won't happen again...
Monsignore Pizzafunghi Bosselese Posted Apr 3, 2001
Yeah, that's the way things are running now
AXR, I suggest you hide that sign which reads 'German spoken / Wir sprechen deutsch' for some time...
...won't happen again...

Good try, Left Ear, but please bear with what Peta says. Here is a translation of my posting on this subject to the GMC e-group, for those who haven't joined yet.
I have made a decision - especially after Peta took the trouble to send a message personally rather than using one of those prefabricated texts in the Bulettenbude.
It is childish to keep harping on this subject. Something *is* being done, the problem is known to the PTB. We should exercise some patience and not resort to sarcastic comments on something the H2G2 editors can do nothing about.
If somebody went and posted dozens of long messages in German (as I originally intended to do) it will not do much to improve the atmosphere and we will not win the sympathy of the PTB like that.
I would like to ask for your solidarity on this point, when it comes to writing in English for the time being. I shall make one last posting to the moderation forum to point out the extent of the damage caused by this policy - i.e. the large proportion of Researchers who German and other languages are affected and may leave for good - But this does not mean that we are giving up the cause.
I don't like it either, but all are welcome to come and converse in the GerManiaConnection e-group where German is one of the official languages.
And furthermore - aren't we all finally fed up of talking about this instead of getting on with the daily business of H2G2?
So - here's a crate of delicious Dornfelder aus der Pfalz and a basket of Brezels - which are not described in my entry on German Bread, because I was hoping for the picture to stay in. Does anyone have an ASCII art picture of a brezel?
...won't happen again...
AXR (empty) Posted Apr 3, 2001
... I agree with you TC and Bossel I think I changed the BBBB Intro in a way that the problem in the moment comes out clear ... let's say we speak german english
...Brezel...
Jhos the Left Ear (help to build the Library of Dreams at A535899 !) Posted Apr 4, 2001
...yeah...
so let's use the opportunity to change the subject (your right, I'm fed up with the topic at the moment).
You mentioned Brezels. I'm not quite sure if I want one cause if been dreaming of brezels the last three nights. I think this is a little strange: Does anybody know what this could mean ? Is there any psychological signifance of brezels ?
...Brezel...
You can call me TC Posted Apr 4, 2001
Were you selling them, buying them, eating them, baking them or handing them to a playground full of children?
...Brezel...
Jhos the Left Ear (help to build the Library of Dreams at A535899 !) Posted Apr 4, 2001
Well, I was buying them but I always woke up before I could eat them... waht was a real pity 'cause they looked quite tasty and I was hungry...
...Brezel...
Monsignore Pizzafunghi Bosselese Posted Apr 4, 2001
Well, then listen what amateur psychologist Bossel has to tell about that, erm, (scratches head),... perhaps you have a problem of some kind or other, and have been offered a solution, but a quite quirky one, so you don't trust if that's really a solution and refuse to 'swallow' it, however how deep your hunger for a solution may be??
Another way of dealing with this affair could be if you refer the problem to the sharks in the basin here at BBBB, they are very good at problem solving -- as long as you can name a person associated therewith, and have the person her/himself referred to the sharks
...Brezel...
Jhos the Left Ear (help to build the Library of Dreams at A535899 !) Posted Apr 4, 2001
Hm, thanx DocBossel but, well, your idea doesn't really fit on my current situation...
...hm... (joins you in scratching the head) perhaps... I tried to get something, paid for it, but don't get the reward... hm, fits better but that doesn't answer my basic question: WHY THE HELL BREZELS ?
I mean, this theory would have worked with nearly any other symbol, why did I dream of brezels ? Maybe 'cause everything is very verschlungen ? (sorrysorrysorry don't know he english word)
Anyway, I just got hungry and went to the baker and ate a real brezel
Perhaps the dream just meant that I am hungry and should go and eat a brezel
(Pooh, I better don't tell you what else I dreamt, who knows what explanations you will come up with. I mean, the brezels were... mostly harmless , compared with the rest...)
Is there anybody at h2g2 specialized in explaining dreams ?
...Brezel...
Monsignore Pizzafunghi Bosselese Posted Apr 4, 2001
Sure it's something 'verschlungen' or quirky, otherwise you could as well have dreamt of a loaf of bread!
Hmm, I don't know. Searching for 'explaining dreams' didn't bring up useful links, so you should perhaps post this question to the /askH2G2 page.
...Brezel...
AXR (empty) Posted Apr 4, 2001
... have you inspected the brezel careful? Some of them do not really have an end or a begining ... and this could mean that there exist a situation in your life ... or somewhere else ... where you'll come allways to the point you started with ... some kind of Möbius-Problem ... *starts scratching the head also*

Well, to say one final word to this whole idiotic situation: Peta, I agree, that it wasn't maybe a good 'joke' with this posting from TLEOFG, but methinks to threaten with barring from h2g2 maybe was also an overreaction, no? I understand your point of view, but please do not forget one point: if there would be no researchers, there would be no h2g2 as it grows in the last almost 2 years. So then BBC wouldn't have anything to buy! Of course, for us, the h2g2 users it's fantastic, that the site is open again, but methinks I don't have to be on my knees - I would like to be a partner, so I like to have also some rights. I will from now on wait patiently, what will happen, how fast some changes will be done - and changes are necessary

Jhos the Left Ear (help to build the Library of Dreams at A535899 !) Posted Apr 5, 2001
Yeah, a friend of mine came up with the möbius-theory last night, too... and hey, it makes sense
But the whole thing was some inspiration for me: I was looking for something to do at the h2g2, know I decieded to start a place for collecting dreams...
