John the gardener says, "Free Tibet!"

Hi, Phred. I'm tempted to submit it, believe me. It was written as a contribution to Broelan's 'Done Too Soon' Project - note the irony.

Thanks for the link; I'll add that if you don't mind.

Ah...! Couldn't you submit it as a stand-alone entry and still allow Brolean to link it into the project? Just a thought.

Tempting, but I don't think that's really the spirit of the thing. Still, the statute of limitations should apply at some point.

Without freedom one leads a wretched life,
Even on relieving nature - restrictions are imposed,
When the door is opened the bowels aren't ready;
When one has the gripes it remains closed.

In sleep an honest look on all faces is worn;
Only when people wake does good or evil show,
Good and evil are not qualities inborn;
More often than not from education they grow.

Enemy planes come roaring in the sky,
People flee helter-skelter - leaving the place empty.
Out of prison we are ordered for safety,
How gladly we all hasten to comply.
