h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hello!
Following chats with the powers that be and the original author, I'm now open to suggestions for changes to M2M2. Please feel free to suggest anything you feel would improve the site. I'm probably going to be starting in the middle of next week.

Hoorah! M2M2 will live again!

Live, certainly. It may be slightly artritic for a time...

Needs something that people can interact around more. Not as such like a club or society, but something that attracts people so that they can buzz around the area and check back frequently. Since success would be an ongoing attraction to the place, there needs to be something to do here.

By that, I mean something that relates more to h2g2 than to the real world out there....

Well. I discussed it with Njan, and he thought, perhaps, to bring attention to the place, a sort of we-support-gay-rights thing. You know, people here on h2g2 like signing up for things, so that'd probably bring in some people And we doubt that anyone here would be against gay rights, so perhaps more than some.

But. *shrugs* I don't know. It's a bit of a feeble idea. P'rhaps we should start a who-can-think-of-something-to-attract-people-to-M2M2 club.

Erm, you're in it! That was the idea of the suggestion box. Now there was a feeble idea! I think you have a very good point. An online petition perhaps? I'm not sure what else that could be done without making it seem too much like a club. Still, if you have any other thoughts, or you talk to someone who does, send them here!!!

I'll put some thought into this and I'll talk to Njan about it s'more. It's a tough one...

Need some sort of newsletter or at least a regualr contributor in the post. People still do education. But it needs to be abalanced reportage not a series of campaigns, something that looks at lesbigay issues in a thoughtful and thought provoking way.

Also a good idea. Slightly confused by the scentence 'people still do education' though. Am I just being thick? What sort of thing should we be telling the posts readership then?

Perhaps the articles already in m2m2 could be submitted to the post.

Meanwhile Let me introduce myself. I'm Steve and I'm part of h2g2 fokelore under another personna. I've been haunting hte site and annoying the towers for over two years now. And am taking over the responsiblity for the M2M2 pages, ably assisted by Cupid Stunt who has done a great deal to get M2M2 recognised by the PTB once more and taken seriously.

One of the first things I have done is to start a new M2M2 page the Quote of the Week. If we do eventually get an colomn in the post this could form part of the article but I'll needing your help to provide 52 quotes a year so if you hear, see or read anyhting you feel is appropriate post it at A740828
