This is it for this year. The next season will start in early January. I'll be posting links for the competition page around the place shortly - ie when I've pulled me finger out and actually finished the damn thing.
Where abouts in the Canaries are you going?

That's on Gran Canaria isn't it?
I went to Tenerife this sort of time of year a couple of years back. I had a great time, the warm weather was a real boost after the wind and rain and dullness of England. Highly recommended

I print off the matches - scan through the thread, in case there's been any changes, cancellations, or inside info revealed, work out my scores - on the printed page, then cut and paste simebody else's and modify then to match what I want.
Last season I tried doing it mainly by 'gut feeling' and did not do very well, this season was going well until I started skimping on research.
And its your fault GD - you started throwing in games from leagues that required research.

And so the end is near..........
Just got to say that it's a great little game you run here GD. Not only does it put all that football knowledge, that my girlfriend said would never come in handy, to good use but it also gives something to do when I'm at work.
Good luck to the guys battling out for top spot, 5th place will do me, I just hope I don't do an Ipswich and get relegated next season.
Rotherham v Sheffield United 1-1 (Gray)
Crystal Palace v Blackburn 1-0 (Johnson)
Everton v Liverpool 1-2 (Baros)
Man City v Tottenham 2-1 (Shaun Wright Philips)

I believe any in-form team can beat any out-of-form team. Whenever. And seeing that Scunthorpe seem to be avoiding their usual Christmas slump...

Bloody 'ell, it's close....
just had a quick scan and I think (I could be wrong) it's neck and neck between Riot and Orm on 126,
It's going right down to the wire this time....

My predictions have turned into a disaster area after looking really good at about quarter past 4 - Bolton and Southampton, both threw it away.

After a long slog back down the M1 from an exciting, if ultimately disappointing game against Rotherham, I thought I'd take a look at how the top end of the table is stacking out with 2 games left to play.
It's official, it is now a three horse race for the title. Demon Drawer has crashed & burned this week. He has slipped to fourth place and is ten points off the lead. Even a pair of full houses wouldn't help, as those above him would take points in that scenario.
Bottletop, despite losing ground in the first 8 matches, can still win. To do so would require full houses in the last two matches and neither Ormy or riotact to pick up additonal scorer points. Under that scenario he would be tied with riotact at the top of the table. There would also be a tie on the head-to-head list, and so if this occurs there will be two winners of the league, and two mousemats awarded.
Ormondroyd's position is interesting. He has pulled back one point on riotact so far this round. Of their predictions for the last two matches, they have the same results, but different scorelines; and one first scorer in common. In the event of a tie on points, Ormondroyd will be the winner as he is well ahead on the head-to-head count.
So there you go. It's all still to play for

What a mixture of restuls. My head said go for an Everton win, guess I should havelistened to that like I did my Livingston defeat earlier in the season. Ah well I just have to maintain the presure for the last two weeks next season.
