A Conversation for FANTASY FOOTBALL - Season 12 - "Say No to Mafia Bucks"
FF12 - Week Seventeen
GreyDesk Started conversation Nov 28, 2004
Welcome to this, the penultimate week of Season Twelve of the Official h2g2 Fantasy Football League, the original and still the best
This week we're going to have something of a trip around where the home team is in a town or city that has some link or special meaning in my life.
Watford v Stoke
Brighton v Rotherham
Stevenage v Rochdale
Blackpool v Port Vale
Exeter v Doncaster
The closing date for all predictions is 12noon on Saturday 4th December.
And as an aside, there are 3 bonus points up for grabs if anyone can say what all FIVE of the special associations are. Three of them should be relatively easy, but the other two are very very hard.

Watford 1 2 Stoke (Akinbiyi)
Brighton 1 0 Rotherham (Knight)
Stevenage 1 2 Rochdale (Holt)
Blackpool 1 1 Port Vale (Paynter)
Exeter 1 3 Doncaster (Fortune-West)
Special associations - yes, three are relatively easy:
Watford - "I was born in a Watford suburb"
Brighton - "To be more specific I live in Brighton"
Exeter - "slip out under the wire and escape to West Somerset"
The others are just too difficult - favourite holiday in Blackpool? Grandmother in Stevenage?

Yes - Exeter is in Devon.
I'm going for: girlfriend is from Exeter, favourite singer is Steven Morrissey and first record bought was Mike Harding's 'The Rochdale Cowboy'.

I don't know Ormy, the last three look pretty reasonable. The Exeter /Doncaster one I'd say has a goodish chance of being a full house!

Two local teams, and two teams whose results I always look out for... Hmmm. This may take a bit of thought.

True, GD, but B still has two weeks in which to make up a 37 point deficit.
Might as well get the cheque off now and beat the Christmas post, I'd say...

I'm not so sure. Rochdale have a player called Holt, but I don't know anything about this team called 'Rochdale Town'.

So are you actually applying to change your prediction, DD? The destination of the mat could hinge on this, so we'd better be clear!

I still want to know what a predictino is. Is it a little Spanish prediction?

I'm not chaging my prediction I can send GD the postit I wrote my predictions down on. I'm saying I mistyped the line when I cut and pasted the teams into my post. I was busy at work at the time as well so was being distracted by an irate customer so didn't realise it until I pressed post message.

However, I will abide my any adjudication and cheer on Stevenage Bourough if required.
Key: Complain about this post
