A Conversation for FANTASY FOOTBALL - Season 12 - "Say No to Mafia Bucks"
FF12 - Week Four
GreyDesk Started conversation Aug 28, 2004
With this being the first round of the World Cup qualifiers, it's time to head off to foreign climes for this week's games...
Azerbaijan v Wales
Austria v England
Northern Ireland v Poland
[No, I'm *not* completing the line up and putting in the Scotland match. They're playing away to Spain on the Friday evening, and it just doesn't seem fair to make light of their forthcoming humiliation.]
Clyde v St.Mirren - a tasty top of the table clash
Airbus UK v Cwmbran - with a name like 'Airbus UK', it just *had* to be done
Closing date 12noon, as per usual, on Saturday 4th September.

Is Northern Ireland technically foreign?

Now, I'm not sure how many internationals my saved game of CM will have covered, so you might get some of me in these predictions...

They're the works team from the Airbus factory in Broughton, North Wales.

I don't know quite what it says about the state of Northern Irish football, that Championship Manager can predict a factory works team's result, but not that of an international squad

Austria 2-2 England (Owen)
Northern Ireland 1-2 Poland (Healy)

If you really want to know (and I'm sure you don't), I set the game up with several likely leagues to run through the season, including all the British Leagues, Italian, German, French and Spanish. Unfortunately, CM doesn't play along with international fixtures and tends to arrange its own. Very fortuitously, there was a result for the other two matches on the database, but there's no way the player can schedule international matches to suit.

Yak.
Had no idea with the last two so copid others, oh well.
