on first glance, this looks like an excellent entry! it's a crying shame that it has lain in Peer Review for so long and not been noticed. i shall try and pop back to give some in-depth constructive feedback as soon as i can.

Hi Atom Boy - I saw this one a week or two ago, promised myself I would respond, and then didn't, so please accept my apologies.
Yes, I think this is a very good entry. It's a kind of "tell it as you see it" entry which is crammed full of detail about the place. A true hitchhikers guide, in many ways.
My main point at the moment would be that it needs some tidying up. You have missed a lot of capital letters at the start of sentences, and sometimes you forget to capitalise some proper nouns (groningen, burger king, driemaster).
There is a writing format in the guide called <./>GuideML</.> - you might try some experimenting with this - it is easy to learn and it will make your headers stand out a bit more than they do at the moment. While not compulory, it is appreciated by the sub-editors.
Some other typos -
the great and grey tower - large grey tower
wich - which
As you step of the train - After you step off the train
Once you've past the smokers - passed
which prohibits smoking - that prohibit smoking
bar-dominated streets as the "Poelestraat" - streets such as the "Poelestraat"
if the bar isn't your style simple try the next one - simply
Recommended by jours truly are the Vera - by this researcher are..
Try restaurants as "Italia" - such as "Italia"
A touch of green and rest in the middle of the city - ???
If you make these changes it will look better without taking away from the heaps of content you've thrown at this.
Great stuff!

wow, thank you! *blush*
I've tried to remove the typoes (is that correct?) and tried some headers...Once again, thank you for your comments, they are much apreciated!

This is an excellent first Entry (hopefully the first of many). Well done.
I wouldn't worry too much about the typos and the style of the Entry. We have a very good Sub-editing process and a sympathetic Sub-editor (like me) will quite happily paste over the cracks.
What's most important is to load your Entries full of information (however trivial), so if there's something you thought about writing but left out - put it in!

This looks good
I really like the detail in this - very handy for people who actually use the entry.
Maybe a bit more history?

Can I copy text and say the source..therefore allowing me to copy and paste instead of writing what's already been written?

I don't think that would be allowed, only direct quoting of people/songs.
Scouts will check (hopefully) if things are copied from source.
I liked the entry, I'm felling it is an entry that Ford Prefect may have come up with, nicely informal and informative.
However would like to see a bit more history of the town.

Hi Atom_boy!
At the end of your Entry you say 'Some of the things written here can also be found on: http://www.vvvgroningen.nl/en/'.
It's OK to point people towards a website 'for further information' but you can't copy any of it onto here verbatim or that would contravene the rules.
You need a capital letter on 'August' and you don't need an apostrophe in 'pizzas'.
Also, you may need to alter the bit about 'ridiculous smoke law' (as that's your opinion) and where you say 'recommended by this researcher' as we're not supposed to make Entries that personal.
You could change them to 'what some people feel are ridiculous smoking laws' and 'some popular cafes are....'
I like geographical Entries. Good luck with it!

Hello Jules,
As for what I say at the end of the entry. It concerns bit's about the history of the city...even though they're not copied literally, some bits are heavinly influenced by the site i mentioned. I found i best to name the source I used.
And i'll chanche the things you mentioned

JulesK Posted Aug 28, 2004
Well, if you haven't actually copied anything word for word, maybe you should change that sentence to 'more information about Groningen can be found at....'

Looking good
Oh!! Important question - who are the football team, where do they play, how do you get to the ground, and historically speaking are they any good?
This is the sort of information all Guides should have!
