PP: Final Standings!

Andy G confirms his victory but sprout moves up into second at Number Six's expense. Well done to both of you.
At the other end, Demon Drawer suffers a final-day tragedy and slips to bottom place. Magwitch, who you will remember only joined us halfway through the season, overtakes McKay to finish well above the relegation places. And that without her midfield having scored a single point!

Well thanks for all the hard work B - I'll have another go next season (holidays allowing) but I need to change something.

Cheers B. Another succesful season. Thanks a lot
And can we have summary execution as an occasional transfer policy next season. It will save us on the odd occasions when we have to pay the league to take particular donkeys off our hands

My latest tweak to the spreadsheet means there are very few - if any - players with a negative value.
But I will probably slap an upper limit on transfers next season. Egon tried to change his entire team while ratted on Monday and I wouldn't let him.

Hey, B, if you had let me change my entire team, I wouldn't have lost all those Tony Hibbert points.

Mu Beta Posted May 16, 2005
You'd have lost a couple for the Geremi own-goal, though.

all round, but particularly to andy g and sprout
And I might have got away with second place, if it hadn't been for that pesky Arsenal-Everton game...

Didn't realise Geremi had scored an own goal- I was in Bolton and relying on my mobile phone internet for the other scores, and that *assured* me Titus Bramble scored. It did seem a little unlikely...

Many thanks to Master B for organising this very enjoyable competition.
Many thanks to Rafael Benitez for moving Riise to left midfield, where he could score lots more points for me.
Many congratulations to Andy G.
I can pinpoint the moment where this got away from me. In the first cup competition, I was in the final with Greydesk, and standing to pick up some cash, win or lose. And William Gallas had been released by some foolish manager. I had the email ready to send as soon as I had the cash. And then - disaster - I drew with GD - no cash, and Magwitch came in and picked up Gallas. The rest is history.
Sad story, no?

You could have offered Magwitch a trade for one of your midfield...

Yeah but then I would have had to lose a strong player. I'd never have got away with giving her my 'dodgy' fourth midfielder, although I suppose I could have tried.

You know who the foolish manager who got rid of Gallas was, don't you? I thought that Bridge was going to play most of the season at left-back, and that Gallas was therefore third-choice centre back, when I made that decision. However it wasn't totally foolish, I did buy Heinze instead... not a vast amount of points difference, I think, in the long run.

What cost me was Roy Carroll being dropped by Sir Eck, and then my having to buy Howard, and then Carroll being put back in. And Shaun Wright-Phillips being injured and Stewart Downing being in and out of the Boro side towards the end.
Yet if B had let me buy Senderos in exchange for Pistone and all my remaining £2.4m (which I didn't think was that unrealistic as Senderos is a young and relatively untested player) then it could all have been so different!
