Students (or anybody else) in Manchester are spoilt for choice. Visit the Smithfield pub on Swan Street for real ale, nip next door to the Band on the Wall for some music, and then over the road for a kebab in that really good place I can never remember the name of because I've never been there sober, but it's opposite Band on the Wall.
Seriously, go there - I've not been a student for a long time, but I know a stonking good kebab when I see one!
