Hi MotDoc,
Interested in history, but not necessarily an expert!
Wasn't Phillip II married to Mary I in 1554 - that is he was married to her before he inherited everything. So which bit was he king of at his marriage?
Apart from that question a few typos
the rebillion of the modern Netherlands. > the rebellion of the modern Netherlands.
Counts of Burgandy > Counts of Burgundy
independant themselves. > independent themselves.
congolmeration > conglomeration
devestating > devastating
independance > independence
seperate > separate

Answer - in 1554 Philip wasn't king of anything, but as the only legitimate adult son of Charles V was obviously in line to inherit. Mary, by the way, was only his second wife. His first, who at the time was the daughter of the Portugese king, was named Maria. His third was a cousin of his, who was also named Maria. If anyone thinks this says something about Philip personally, keep in mind that in this era almost every royal woman was named either Anne, Mary, or Catherine. Think of Henry VII: Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Anne of Kleeves, Catherine Howard, Catherine Parr. In the French Bourbon monarchy it was even worse: for about 10 generations every man was named Louis and every woman was named Marie. Louis XIV has a son named Louis, whose son Louis was the father of Louis XV.

I forgot that Maria, as I haven't much detail on the children of João III of Portugal - João (d. 1554) and 8 others and on the other side of the blanket, Diogo, Archbishop of Braga - though I have her on my chart. Most Portuguese princesses seem to be Isabel (Elizabeth), Joanna or Catherine.

Maria was the daughter of John (Joao) III, although my notes indicate that he died in 1557. The throne was inherited by his grandson Sebastian from 1557-1578. It then passed to Cardinal Henry from 1578 to 1580. Henry was the brother of John III and also of Isabella, the wife of Charles V.

Yes it was the son, João, that died in 1554 - Sebastião's father. That all agrees with my notes.

Hi, I really like these entries, but I'm wondering if it would be worth linking them all together whilst they were in Peer Review, and then they could all be picked together?

The two completed have links to each other, and the third will also when it is completed. What further efforts would you recommend?

I wouldn't worry so much about making sure all the entries get picked together -- it's not a tremendously huge deal.
My one suggestion at this point would be that the section on Phillip II could use some subheaders to break it up a bit, and increase the readability.
