Leo has torn this project apart and put it together again two or three times. It has been a real pleasure

I thought with University Projects the sub was supposed to submit to PR and do the editing?
*just wondering aloud before posting any nitpicks only to have to start over again*

Leo has done the editing - I just submitted the page because I'm only home for a day, and I thought we might as well get started. It amounts to the same thing whoever submits it

Crumbs - good work both of you.
There's one paragraph in The Roman Era - A27808545 that could do with chopping up - it starts "Hannibal's brother, Hasdrubal, had been tied down back in Iberia..."

I meant the Peer Review comments?
<> No, it's the sub-ed's job to submit to PR and attend to the comments/nitpicks/alterations.
<>
I'm sorry Rich but I disagree, you can't disregard the Uni rules to suit you.

It's just *a* few miles east of the city of Burgos
a mistype, Hasbrubal, has crept in

The Roman Era - A27808545
>Over the winter of 216/7 BC< should be 217/6 BC
There is repeated material at the start of the paragraph >>Hannibal's brother, Hasdrubal, had been tied down back in Iberia...<<
>>It had taken the Romans a decade *and* an army of 60,000 troops<<
navel scenes >> naval scenes
24km = *15* miles

I'm not entirely sure which rule I've 'disregarded', GB. Leo has full editing rights, and she'll be making the changes. That's pretty obvious, as she's listed on each as the Sub. All I've done is submit the project page to PR. Although the Sub normally does that on behalf of the Field Researcher, there's nothing to say that I can't do that. The University page just says:
'The final test for any project is if its entries can be understood by people who are newcomers to the topic. Therefore, once a project is written, the project page should be submitted to Peer Review.'
As far as I can see, submitting the Index Page myself is fine. If that isn't the case, I'll happily take it out so that Leo can put it back in again.

I didn't look at the entries because there were no links to them in the first post which should have been made by the sub-ed. As it was the entry links were posted by a reviewer incorrectly, causing more confusion. Not a great start, really. Then we'll have the problem of page-turning and where do we copy the A-numbers from? Not post one, eh?

Does it really matter? The words 'mountain' and 'molehill' spring to mind, along with five others.
Anyway, I'll be sure to get round to reading these soon!

I'm with Lac here, with a bit of a drought in PR recently let's not nitpick over rules - sorry, guidelines, eh?
The Uni Project has been submitted, the review process will occur and no doubt we'll get the Entries into the EG sooner, rather than later. If we go about withdrawing and re-entering and - my giddy aunt, what a faff! There appears to be some flexing of 'muscles' here that need not be flexed...
Anyway...
Enjoyed the read Rich, I'll browse over the Entries again with my nitpicking hat on over the week

Darling Skankyrich,
I have just spoken to GB on the phone and she asks me to forward her apologies for the remarks made.
She says to tell you she is currently on 'Melt Down'. That you would understand what she means
I trust everyone will now concentrate on the Uni Project in hand
lil xx

Thanks, lil. I did suspect that it wasn't GB's real voice speaking
for GB when she gets back...
Let's put that issue behind us now and get these Entries knocked into shape.

Come on, dig in folks. A handful of minor errors (naval, navel, what's the diff? ) is the best y'all can do?

The Roman Era - A27808545
So began the most famous trek of all. By the time two Roman legions landed at Emperion, Hannibal had already left Iberia. Schoolboys still read of [the] journey with awe.
Hannibal's brother, Hasdrubal, had been tied down back in Iberia with Roman skirmishes, and by the time he got to Italy it was too late. The Romans, so far subdued on the second front in Spain, decided to re-open hostilities in 210 BC under a new leader, Publius Cornelius Scipio. Like Hannibal, Scipio lost his father and uncle to the enemy. His arrival proved decisive. Rather than take land piece by piece, he daringly went to the heart of Carthaginian territory, surprising the city of Cartagena and taking it after a short siege. Further victories came before Scipio took on the last Carthaginian army at the Battle of Ilipa in 206 BC.
I seem to have read this section twice!...
Moorish Conquest - A30481652
Since King Sisebut's anti-Semitic edict in 616 [AD]
In fact, I think some AD's need adding here and there throughout, if that's consistent with EG style
Christian Reconquest A30498979
I appreciate the 1212 and All That (1066 and All That) but will others? Keep it if you like, but it might be lost to the average reader?
Fernando and Isabel A30670328
'And All That' header again, is the repetition purposeful?

A27771348: First Inhabitants
>>Cartago Nova<< I always knew it as 'Carthago'. Not saying I know best or anything, just asking whether 'Cartago' was the intended spelling or a typo .
And the first footnote has a 'peninsular'. Shouldn't it be 'peninsula'?
