No moderation!
At least they haven't let any of the old threads come back! *phew*
(I know that some of them *should* be back, and that there are *lots* of posts completely in English in them! )

*scratches head*
Hmmm... yes, I don't get it...
Sorry, got to go feed my stomache - it gets hungry from reading all these un-moderated postings!

Still there - do we now have a Moderator out there who speaks at least one of the Scandinavian languages?
*tries to see something/someone in the darkness surrounding her, but fails*

Titania, I love your rebellion! Aside from completely agreeing with you on the purpose of it, I couldn't help cracking up when I read through your paroles.
Must be the first time in history that the Swedish cuisine is being used as a ramrod for the proliferation of free speech in well any language you please
Brændende kærlighed!
[Burning love. Well - hard to explain. It's a dish. A Danish one. Made with mashed potatoes, bacon, onions, and red beets (rødbeder)]

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Oct 20, 2001
Hmmmmm... haven't tried that one...
...and then I think, when I look at the usual variety of restaurants in Sweden, that you might call pizza and kebab 'Swedish plain food' too...

Santragenius V Posted Oct 21, 2001
Yep, same thing goes here - if you add "spaghetti with meatsauce" (I know, it's called Bolognese - but Danish kids don't know that...)
At least my kids favour Spaghetti alla Carbonara...! <smiley for proud Dad>
Sild! Karrysild, marinerede sild og stegte sild!
[Herring! Curried herring (ehhh...), marinated herring & (pan-) fried herring]

You know how sometimes a specific dish pops up in your head, and you can hardly wait to get home and cook, and you can't stop thinking about it at w*rk, and you get hungrier and hungrier and hungrier...<---consider this a drewling smiley!
Today, I'd like to eat
Pannkakor med vispgrädde och hjortronsylt
[Pancakes with whipped cream and cloudberry jam]
Sveedish korner
Santragenius V Posted Nov 12, 2001
Hmm - kinda yummy...
I must admit that I always felt that whipped cream is a bit too much with pancakes...
*listens to shocked silence*
But the "sylt" I'm all for -- though cloudberries are a bit tough to come by here. Strawberries or blackcurrant seems to be my favourites.
*starts looking silly, drooling all over his chin*
Oh, you'll have to excuse me - I can hear this piece of apple cake (it is just exactly *not* an apple pie but a cake with apples in it - hence apple cake...!)
Kaffe og kage - frem og tilbage!
[this is going to make not too much sense: coffee and cake - forward and back. But that's what it says!]

*floating in, dressed as Lucia, singing* ...Sanktaaaaa Luciaaaaa!
Varm glögg med mandlar och russin, lussebullar och pepparkakor - varsågoda!
[Hot glögg with sweet almonds and raisins, saffron buns and ginger cookies]
Sveedish korner
Santragenius V Posted Dec 13, 2001
Ok, I (think I) know that you call the @ for "kanelbulla" - but lussebullar...?
Anyway, I'd happily devour a large mug of warm glögg just now
Vanillekranse!
[Vanilla circles...? Anyway, cookies common at Xmas time in DK, round with a hole in the middle that you're not supposed to eat!]
Sveedish korner
Ottox Posted Dec 13, 2001
Of course you can eat the hole!
Beautiful voice you have, Titania!
... eh... SantRa! "Lusse" is/was also used for Lucia in Denmark!
