I've now tested h2g2 On the Move with these Vodafone settings as well as the Orange Open Access settings and the Fonedata settings (available from http://www.wapfone.com/support.htm).

Despite early problems with the Fonedata gateway, h2g2 On the Move now works fine with all three.

It doesn't work on my phone either. I just get connection time out on the screen.

I can access the site through Cellnet, ie dialling Cellnet rather than the Vodaphone number at 30p a minute.

The About box works ok, but other than that I get file to large and unknown data type errors for all the other links.

Yes I did fix the problems with the Vodaphoone gateway allthough I'm not sure how. I can now see why you liked it so much.
I'm currently using Vodaphone and Orange for general information, Fonedata for accessing my Freeserve email and a BTInternet ISP account (as it's free calls and I can use Excites WAP site). All I need now are more reasons to use it.
Incedently Adam, any views on why my Test journal entry appears twice on my h2g2 homepage?
Oh and as an afterthought to whoever it is who pays 30p a min for their phone calls, its about time you changed your account! I pay 5 or 12 peak, and often at off peak I pay nothing by using Orange gateway from my orange phone or using a BT Internet account, (with Surftime soon upon us any ISP will soon do)

I seem to have a little difficulty connecting to h2g2 through my mobile, on cellnet. Could you send me the appropiate settings for the phone? Do you use the 'Bookmark' option or the 'Home' page? Your help would be appreciated!

not sure of the Cellnet settings as never used them. You may like to try the Vodaphone ones listed in a different forum on the h2g2 on the move page. This has a dedicated link to h2g2.
