I use a Nokia phone, but I think the model number is 5160. Has anyone had any experience with this particular phone? I just got it, and don't know how to configure the setings.

I'm not sure what you are referring to... Your phone's basic settings, or the ability to download information from the internet through the phone?

Okay, first thing is this:

H2G2 Ont hte Move *is* internet content, so your phone must be able to accept and download information from thie internet.

Okay, nex thing is that the Nokia 5100's and 6100's are not able to download internet content. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that internet compatibility starts with the Nokia 7100's.

Sorry, it sounds like you're out of luck.

The other option is to buy a laptop with a cellular modem, which *are* compatible with the Nokia's, but that gets pricey...

Internet content, huh? My phone can accept e-mail. Does that count?

Hmmm...
I was unaware that the 5160 could download Email.
Email is a form of communication over the internet, so I would assume that if you can recieve email that you could (possibly) recieve http (website) infromation as well.
Just read the manual accompanying you phone, and then if that doesn't tell you, ask your nearest cell-phone guru (try Radio Shack, or somewhere where they sell Nokia's).

I (read: we) see that I am woefully uninformed on this subject...

The 5160 is not a WAP phone so you'll not be able to see H2G2 on it...sorry.

Thanks for catching that one, Bigmig smiley - smiley

I've been pretty busy getting married recently (only the once, but it's a major operation smiley - smiley ), but now I'm back from honeymoon and able to answer questions again.

Yes, the 5160 is not a WAP phone - you can only receive emails on it via SMS (Short Message Service). All GSM phones (i.e. all the digital ones in most of Europe, and some of the digital ones in the States) can send and receive SMS messages.

There is currently no way of getting h2g2 via SMS, but that might change soon... Watch this space smiley - winkeye
