Hi there smiley - smiley

I shall add you to the table at some point - I don't trust myself to do it now, I'm falling asleep!

What do we call you? I'll put CJ-Maranup in the table, but it's a bit of a handful to type!

And finally, your sentence - "ahora estudio" (present tense, literally I now study) or "ahora estoy estudiando" (present continuous tense, literally I am now studying) - either would work equally well in Spanish. And there's a single word for the present tense - "el presente" smiley - biggrin

CJ-Maranup

Thanks Joe smiley - smiley

No worries re the table, as you can see I already joined the conversation!

You can call me CJ, or Carol which is my RL (RW?) name...

Ah... A gerundio. Seem to recall a lesson on them early on, but haven´t needed to use it them since. Ta smiley - smiley

All done! smiley - smiley

Language teachers always make the gerund needlessly complicated - they tend to teach it properly at the end of the course, which doesn't help. It's actually quite simple, once you get your head round it. I can do something on it in the teaching thread if you like? smiley - smiley

CJ-Maranup

Thanks Joe, a little lesson on gerunds would be good smiley - smiley I gather they´re often used with conjugations of estar?

Are there any conversations in/about spanish on h2g2 that aren´t referenced on the Spanish language thing homepage? I thought I might try and start a conversation in spanish (with tranlsations of course...). I´m starting to understand what I hear, but can´t really formulate sentences properly so it´d be good to practice. And I have a worksheet with a bunch of questions about ´Cual es tu favorito...´ {Which is your favourite...}.

Where/when/why did you learn spanish?

If you want to start a conversation here, feel free! Make the title of a similar format (ie, put Language Thing and Spanish in it somewhere) and then go for it!

I've been learning Spanish for four years, I'm just beginning A2 - the second year of an A-level course.
