They Don't Shine
There is no water to grow cash crops.
There is no water to drink but starve.
There is no water to live but die.
A small farm at Vijayawada burnt to ashes.
Water hyacinths bubble like flickering night stars.
They don't shine.
They don't shine.
They don't shine.
An uptick in the bear market
Brings no rain in the drought lands.
And the old man with poisoned debts,
Dreams off green foliage as he smokes his hookah.
Back in the city the rallies are on.
Beware Monsanto! you are the traitor.
Beware Monsanto! you are the ripper.
Beware Monsanto! you are the usurper.
Of throne and kingdom
Of power and pride.
Of green fields living....
