It doesn't make a particularly good ultimate question, but the answer to 'How much money did the Hitchhiker's Guide movie make in the UK this weekend' is a Douglas-inspired £4.2m.

Sources close to Disney are reported to be thrilled by the figures, coming on top of a US opening of $21.7m, topping the US box office and demolishing 'XXX: State of the Union' which analysts had expected to top the chart.

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

It's far and away the best attended new film we've had where I work Jim, although I must add that this is for a cinema that's only been open since early March.

However, when Star Wars opens in a wek or two we're putting on a midnight show on all six screens, and every single seat sold out within a couple of hours of the tickets going on sale. I believe that the first six days of the film are already completely sold out at our cinema.

But so was the HHGTTG at the 7pm and 10pm shows last night smiley - biggrin
