This was in WW for a bit but no-one said anything, so I'll move it over here, and hope someone reads it. There might be more I can add, but i don't know what.

Perhaps it's the romanticism of an American, but I would think that while private schools can be quite new, most public schools in Britain would be old enough to have a history. Which church founded it and why? How did it secularize? What was its educational goal, and is it now co-ed?
Is TPS a new organization?

Public and Private schools are the same thing. TPS is a state school. It does have some history, but not a lot. Its not a church school, i'll look into what its origins were.

Certainly needs fleshing out - basicallly apart from the names of the teaching staff this could be any state school in the country. Any famous ex-pupils ? Any innovative teaching methods ? Year of founding ? Size of average intake ? Sporting successes ? Anything ?

I apologize.
I misremember what my brother who went to Oxford taught me, which was that Public schools in Britain were founded by persons or non-state organizations for education of self-paying students, and Private schools were founded by the government for universal education students (which is the opposite case here in America).
