okay, i have been trying goo for a little now, and I really must say I miss the "my conversations" window that updates every few seconds. 
It also occurred to me that in one of your favourite novells, Douglas Adams himself speaks of using an alternative computer that forces him to use thousands of "dongly bits".
I can not really say that this makes me think of him as a practical man

hate to burst your bubble, but limited edition usually means something is missing from the "normal" version. Like with the limited edition of Once, which has one track less than the normal edition.

I've checked. The only difference is the box. There's a track missing on the limited edition of Once? KILL!!!!!

Not on the limited editions of Mutter. One of them has bonus tracks, the other has 4 live tracks.
