the definitive Guide, so to speak, about extraterrestrials, is the Bible namedropper of heavy dusty grimoires, the Urantia Book. In it it says that there has been a quarantine on this planet Earth for AEONS, literally to keep evil beings from landing here.
You can look it all up. The UB has existed since the 1930s -- but has only been online, like most things, for a few years.
as such, it is likely that if aliens do exist that they won't be able to show themselves to the general public.
Kind of like, ah, it is.
