If there is any validity to the story of evolution posted on A26761610 then we might think of life as a level of complex organization. What this means is simply that the ingrediants that make up life on this planet may not be the only recipe for life.

Earth I understand, is the only planet in the solar system with a strong magnetic field. Does this mean that life could not develop on Saturn because the lacked the right kind of lightning?

Being a ham radio opertor I have always been intrigued by the fact that the impetus for developing radio communications came from a single contact across the atlantic ociean that occured on a wavelength of about 5 meters. The sunspot activity that made that possible only happens about once a century and then for only a brief period of time.

Could you imagine watching television on your semafore flags?
