A2700488 is the Billy Joel Project. Take a look SoRB, and see how this could evolve into something quite incredible. Perhaps.

Aaah - that's what Peer Review is all about.

Gnomon - time to move on

I took "smiley - shrug" to mean "well, if nobody thinks it is suitable, then I won't pursue it". What did you take it to mean, McKay?

I took it mean I'm ignoring that.

There were several pieces of information in the post that could be used to improve what is currently there.

At the moment I see this as little more than a list of researched facts about an assumed group of people (for example which Brian Hayes is referred to ?) If you're going to do this sort of entry - do it well, and when so many of the list are indefinable, without access to the writers, I don't see the point.

Thinking back over 3 examples of this type of entry.

1 was the original Billy Joel project which was an excellent set of entries. The song is very well known and it was revealing just what an outstanding set of lyrics they are (and in doing so helping to confirm my personal theory that Billy Joel is in league with unnatural forces)

1 was the Bus Driver's Prayer entry, which was an interesting take on a song by one of England's greatest lyricists.

1 was my attempt at taking on one of the best known/influential albums by one of the best known/influential musicans of the 20th century with the Bob Dylan Highway whatever revisted.

I personally like this style of entry and think that it is an alternative kinda thing that H2G2 is good at. However, I haven't actually heard of this group before, and a bit of reserch shows that they have had 1 Top 10 hit in the UK (and this isn't it). This song scraped into the top 20. I am really not sure that this has is the kind of song that is well known enough in general to make this entry worthwhile.

Another point is that the 3 entries I have mentioned did fairly substantial reserch into each of the namechecks or buses needed to get between places. This entry is far less substancial, and I don't really feel that a line after each lyric explaining who each person was adds that much to the fount of knowledge that is H2G2.

Fair enough. It was almost entirely for my own amusement in any case...

smiley - shrug was "fair enough, I won't pursue it".

No problem. I have a reputation for being grumpy, which is well deserved. I just wasn't this time. smiley - smiley

A Super Furry Animal

This song just came up on random play on my computer. I wanted to check who all the people in the song were (like the author of this entry), and I, too, was confused by "Little Neepsie". So I checked around - (Googling "Little Neepsie" and the first hit is this entry! smiley - cool) and found The Beloved's website, which has the lyrics to Hello on it: http://www.thebeloved.com/lyrics.php?dep=lyrics&songid=15

It is, indeed, Little Neepsie. No idea who or what that is, though.
