MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship.

2005?

Where does the time go?

The Counties thing was an Editor's challenge for a t-shirt back then.

A 'little' ambitious, I think. I was going to attempt Kent, then East and West Kent, which shrank to Thanet (A607655) but even that was too big. So I planned to do Ramsgate.

Still prevaricating, as that is now 20 entries on it's own.

smiley - goodluck with resurrecting this.

Maybe the County challenge could be reinstated, as co-written entries, by as many researchers as possible? Maybe for a 2014 launch?

Just a thought. I'd be happy to assist, but cannot commit to doing one single County.

smiley - ok

I seem to have accidentally removed it from Writing-FleaMarket, but put it back in.

I agree that writing about a whole county is a real challenge, not one I'd take on easily. I'm much happier writing about specific buildings. Writing about everything of interest that has happened in the last 2,000 years since Roman times to a wide area of several hundred square miles in about 2,000 words is not exactly an easy undertaking.

This article could form the basis of an overview of what counties are and how they have evolved – I'm quite tempted to re-write it myself. We don't necessarily need to have articles on each county.

In fact I did re-write it, and it is now in Peer Review here: F48874?thread=8300362
