Here's number 5 in the occasional series about Orkney.
Ready for Peering my friends
The Italian Chapel really is a gem of a place and the story of its construction and restoration is a bit of a tear-jerker
Your comments are eagerly anticipated as usual.

Excellent Frenchbean. I visited this chapel some years ago and it really is as marvellous as you describe.
My proof reading skills leave a little to be desired, so I will leave that to others, but the content cannot be faulted.
A good story well told.
Donald

Wow, one of your best so far F/b The end of it fair near brought a to my eye. Now I'm not sure if I can even remember the only two things I found in it which need changing...
Oh yeah. One instance of 'nissen' which needs a capital.
testiment - testament.
Three things:
"after his capture and ultimate incarceration in a British prisoner of war camp the legacy left by Domenico, captivates visitors to the Orkney Islands"
Shift the comma from 'Domenico,' to 'camp,'
Four things:
"It is unmanned and open to the public and receives in excess"
'It is unmanned, open to the public and receives in excess'
.....................
Amongst our weaponry... are fear, surprise, an almost fanatical dev... I'll come in again.
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

You were saying that you weren't able to do as many entries as you'd like, Fb. If I were able to turn out half the amount you are doing, I'd be really happy. Looks another good one. I'll have a proper look when I get back from work.

Hello Donald
How lovely to hear from somebody who's visited one of the places I write about! It really is a special place isn't it? The photos in the link are fabulous and show it at it's best. I remember the first time I visited; I went round touching the walls, cos I couldn't believe they weren't real bricks
As for the Spanish Inquisition Well, I expect nothing less of you Gosho But I'll be on the look out for the red cape... to do edits.
See you later ZSF

Lovely entry, Fb!
Just had the opportunity to read it and look at the links. What an amazing place - the craftmanship is just stunning.
Are there any links to the concrete artist?

This is a good article.
If I ever get that far up north, I know what to eat and what to visit now!

Hello ZSF I can't find any links to Bruttapasta, the concrete artist, that aren't Italian Chapel sites.
But I have added one to Domenico Chiocchetti: it doesn't say a lot, but at least you get to see his face
I've also done a bit of word and sentence polishing, in preparation for the return of the Inquisition
