actually i was thinking maybe you celebrate on a different day in sweden than we do here? could very well be, you know. after all sankthans (saint john's) is a christian holiday while midsummer solstice is a viking holiday.

in estonia they still celebrate valpurgis night, according to hati. we stopped doing that decades ago in denmark.

Hati

We only got started with it. smiley - tongueout Well, it used to be students thing but now it's quite common all over the place. More common anyway than halloween. And in summe we don't celebrate summer solstice, only St.John's, but then that is even bigger event for most of the population than Xmas or anything.

Hati

Oh, and as we have both 23rd and 24th of June national holidays, we always celebrate it on 23rd. People who like partying more celebrate 4-5 days in a go, of course.

Titania (gone for lunch)

Valborg is still celebrated in Sweden, yes - we light big fires, and there are choirs 'singing in the spring'

You mean pretend to be nice, friendly types to lure people into coming?

It'll never work.

I'm afraid you are right. We should try to lure people with being weird and unpredictable. smiley - evilgrin

smiley - lurking to be lured.

I have presented the idea to the master of our vehicle, Sig. S. (at least that was what the kids thought, when they were young smiley - evilgrin) and the master of finances smiley - disco that is me smiley - disco, and *I* agree that it would be a very good idea to go to Lund around Sct. Hans.

I will be more specific and determined in a few weeks' time. I have this book to finish - old assignments to catch up on, a Nordic Freelance Seminar to arrange (8.-10. of June) and a small matter of a 16 pages magazine to write in between other 'interesting' workloads. smiley - puff
