Why Eomando?

Well, before I answer that one, there are 2 things you should know about me first:
- I have the greatest difficulty naming things
- When I'm stumped about what to call something, I'll try almost anything...
And the story goes on...
Well, one day, a few years ago, I had to name a character in a short story I'd written. I couldn't think of anything. Every time I tried to make something work, my mind would go completely, and utterly blank. Nothing I tried felt right. I decided to try a different approach...
Don't worry I'll get there eventually
I'd imagine that everybody out there is familiar the bit in The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe where Ford and Arthur are stranded on pre-historic Earth. Here, Arthur tries to teach the natives how to play scrabble, failing miserably all but once, when one of them spell's out forty-two, the answer to the Ultimate Question. Just as Arthur thinks he's made a breakthrough, in stomps Ford, ruinging everything1
So?
Well, I thought I'd try it out - it was worth a shot wasn't it? I needed a name for a character and also had the added bonus of possibly, just possibly, finding out what the Ulitimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything actually was!
I had nothing to lose, really.
So out I pulled that ancient, dusty scrabble board that every house has lurking around in a dusty corner for a rainy day. I blew off the dust - nearly choked to death on the dust - then put all of the little scrabble tiles into a smallish box.
I closed my eyes and hoped...
I pulled out the 1st letter...
...E...
...then pulled out a 2nd, a 3rd, a 4th, until I got fed up...
...E...O...M...A...N...D...O...
Hang on!
Eomando!
It was perfect - exactly the name I'd been looking for - the name I've dragged out of that dusty corner of my mind for this very place - I thought it rather fitting...
...So...could it be...? Is "Eomando" the Ultimate Question to Life, the Universe and Everything???
