You have failed to mention the further mental torment of the kernal re-compilation which proves that you can understand what linux REALLY is but the great danger is when it goes wrong it goes very very wrong. For all you know your monitor could just display a bowl of petunias but I have never heard of sperm whales.

I totally agree. Linux deserves a far longer article.

We need some kind of alarm system.
But I should say something about Linux here. I'm going to get Slackware 7 soon. Yippee! It'll make a change from wrestling with Red Hat 6.
