Can you explain exactly why the beast has to have a number? I mean, really. It's kinda silly. That the beast has a number. Considering you ARE the ship's official beast, and all.

Well duh. It's so he doesn't get confused with all the other Beasts. You see, when the world was created, it was like, "There's gonna be a buncha beasts. Here, here, and maybe one over here, and ooh this looks nice like this..." and before you know it there's hundreds of ravaging Beasts everywhere. So, the government had to keep track of all these Beasts, so they instigated a numbering system, complete with little tags and stuff, to keep them in line. Well, it just so happened that Beast #666 was the most evil and intelligent of all the Beasts and so left the world to form his own hell and terrify all the other people of the world. And so it was, and so it shall be.

Wait, they got tags? And where are all of the other beasts? Can I get a beast? I want number 423. Can I get number 423? I'd settle for just number 422 to, so... where can I get my own individually numbered beast? And do they come with certificates of authenticity?

Yes, they are tagged, but it is not a tag you can see...it is a tag of the soul, a tag of the workings of the mind, a spiritual tag, one that may never be stolen or lost, or read without proper scanning equipment...
As to obtaining a Beast, you'd have to take that up with Satan. I don't know what he'd say.
And I'm sure you get a nice framed certificate you can show your grandkids. BUT, I don't know how many are left and if #432 or #422 are currently available. You'd have to get your name on the signup list, and wait at least 6-8 weeks for delivery, and pay some payments...I dunno. I'm not in charge.
