... Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah, the Brewers are going to Old Trafford. 2nd in the Premiership can't beat 14th in the Conference!

Still iof only they could have managed a last minute goal and I think it would have been the best day of my life...

Next weekend I'm going to the h2g2 London meet. And in the afternoon before the meet, I'm going to go and some real FA Cup giant-killers after their fantastic result yesterday.
Or-i-ent!

Yeah, I know Ormy, it was only a draw. Still, it was worth it to watch the trails of highly embarrassed Man U fans past the pub window. Oddly, not quite so many of them wanted a beer after the watch as before.

Did you join in the chants of 'Fergie, Fergie, sort it out?' And afterwards, did you toast 'em with Burton ?

Our reporter who went just gave me a commemorative jar of Bovril with 'Burton Albion v Man United' on the front

Bovril? Wouldn't Marmite be more appropriate, Six?
The chants of 'Are you Tamworth in disguise' were not appreciated by the away fans, I can tell you that

I was wondering about that... I know Marmite's traditionally linked with Burton because of yeast extract being a by-product of the brewing process, or something. Does Bovril have any particular link with the town, or were they just cashing in on Bovril's connection with lower-league football?

If Bovril has any connections with Burton, then I know don't about them... The Marmite factory is indeed in Burton, and it doesn't half stink sometimes!

Apparently it's made on the Wellington Road - look:

Oh. I'm sure it's not *made* there- Wellington Road is in the middle of town, there's no factories there. It must just be Unilever's head office, or something...

Fair point
I'm suddenly thinking, it's a nice thing to have and all, but if there were only 100 made I'm suddenly thinking eBay... Although mine's a red one - maybe there were 100 made of the yellow ones and loads of red ones?

It says:
"8 Jan 2006
Burton Albion v Man. United
FA Cup - 3rd Round
Commemorative Edition"
The "Burton Albion v Man. United" bit's in big letters where the Bovril logo would normally be. Everything else is in small type at the top and bottom of the label.

Sounds worth hanging on to then Six, and then ebaying it.
