Simpson Crash Helmets

I have to take issue with the ill informed comments about Simpson crash helmets. Simpson helmets are in general much lighter than many helmets whilst offering the same or better protection. Yes they are made for the race tracks but in comparison with other helmets on the market the Simpson Super Shark is light years ahead when it comes to anti lifting and stability at speed. As far as restricted vision is concerned I have owned various road legal helmets, currently a Bell M5 which offers little or no better peripheral vision. Simpson would pass a BSI test if it was submitted but then how many bikers will pay £500-£600 for a crash helmet with no bike racing pedigree, hence no market. If Valentino Rossi started wearing a Simpson then the push for them to be BSI approved in the UK would be immense.
