I seem to make a habit of seeing things that people didn't intend.

And I've decided to have a go at an Entry on F-F'sM-S. It'll be collaborative, other party willing. So thanks for yet another unintentional inspiration!

The catch with research is that you should never say anything until you've finished.
I now know that Dadd did paint a watercolour version of the Fairy-Feller's Master Stroke, but he only started it after 'finishing' the (celebrated) oils version. The event that seems to have persuaded him to stop work on the original was his transfer from Bethlem to Broadmoor in 1864.
So I'm going to stick my neck out and say the watercolour was not done at Bethlem.
Time to shut up about this increasingly tedious subject, I reckon

I can't remember if that was on display in the museum or not.
