How do I make that wonderful Citron Glace you find in Belgium and France?

Thank you. As my french teacher once said - French is for me a foreign language.

I will have a look and see what I can decipher.

smiley - biggrin Assuming it is a recipe for the right kind of 'glace', here's a rough translation:

Ingredients:
150ml water
zest and juice of 2 large lemons
175g powdered (icing) sugar
2 egg whites
300ml crème fraiche

Method:
In a saucepan, warm your zest, juice, water and sugar
Keep mixing well under it begins to boil, allow to simmer for 5 minutes
beat the egg whites into peaks and fold into the warm mixture
allow to cool and add the crème fraiche
mix well
enjoy

... roughly speaking, anyway.

smiley - drool I may have to try this smiley - run

Wilma - thanks for the translation - it is hard to believe, but it is roughly as I had interpreted it. Many thanks - I will have a go and we can compare results.

I had an ice cream maker once - a good make and the type you freeze the bowl first, but it eventually developed a leak - the recipes didn't seem to have anything as good as this Citron Glace.

Ta GA.
