A Conversation for Making Excuses

Sorry I'm Early

True I'm hardly ever late but renowned for being on time if not early. But one time I did surprise my ex-girlfriend by turning up before a bowls match instead of after ie about 2 1/2 haours early.

My excuse: a bouquet of flowers and she'd had a miserable day when I'd called earlier to check if we were still on for later. So I got in the car drove to the florists and then drove the 15 miles to her place. After the bowls it was one of our best evenings.

Guys may need excuses for being early. Sometimes picking up a girlfriend at her house, this sort of thing comes in handy...

I always seem to have a problem with being early. I'm so paranoid about being late that I set off with at least an extra 15 minutes to spare. If I've arrived way before everyone else at a pub or sthg. I fell really stupid; but you can always blame one of the following:
1: the buses are normally so unreliable, so I set off early to compensate
2: I wanted to ensure that you didn't arrive first and feel silly
3: I've already got a round in (this isn't an excuse, just a redeeming remark)
