Its been ages since i played warhammer 40k, i quit when they introduced the new rules and made all foot troops able to move the same distance, my Tyranids were never the same again.

I had a 1000 point army made up mostly of genestealers and Hormagaunts and termagants... there was also a big Hive tyrant a minor unit of gargoyles, a biovore and one of those dodgy psychic things i forget the name of

Sigh, all painted up in greens and browns so they could hide in the jungle, different to every other tyranid army i saw.... Then suddenly imperial troop were able to move 6" instead of 4 and all my glorious close combat troops couldnt get close enough to attack anything....

Psychic dudes: Zoanthropes. My local Tyranid opponent had three of these dudes (I think) but they rarely harmed me. I always imagine having a Vindicare Assassin and using his special bullet-type to penetrate Z's psychis shield, and blow his widdle skull apart smiley - winkeye

It's been yonks since I played too, having lost interest after three years playing these games. I don't consider it a waste of my time though. Merely a major phase of my life. Respect to those who've been going ten years and more, like.

Methinks Tyranids would still be a fair match for Imperial Guard in close combat, no matter how fast we all move. Tactics, my friend...

True, true...Tyranids may be something I might avoid writing about. Unless I want a challenge, then I'll try writing from the perspective of a Tyranid on the battlefield. And try to make it unique, realistic and, most importantly, a good read.

Basically, I'm bookmarking this thread in case anyone's interesting in my WH40K fanfics. Minimal advertising. For the buzz of writing smiley - bigeyes
