God it took me a while to find this thread! Never mind, i'm here now. Thanks for the link, but in the interests of plugging here it is again http://www.geocities.com/megaslann

Another good site is http://www.geocities.com/gwpricewars

I've found somthing thats really annoyed me, a little thing called armageddon3.com, a world wide campaign run by the Games workshop, sound familar? I haven't checked it out yet, but it sounds BIG!

Taking the conversation over here... yes, there is a market for that sort of thing. But of course I'm only 15, so that presents certain problems.

(Quorthon, this is reference to something I started in the last conversation before noticing this one. Go check it out, I'm too lazy to repost.)

I dunno. Suppose you could always publish it over the internet... But then it'd probably get stolen by various scumbags - or GW. Or am I just being cynical? Would it be legal to publish it if a parent/guardian/other adult was technically/legally in charge of business?
I have the suspicion that Quornthon is on holiday. Am I right?

You could publish under your own name. I know how to write up darn good copyright notices, and I don't think you have to be a citizen to hold copyrights. not only that, but for text and images, you don't actually need to register a copyright, just post a notice of one on the document itself. The concept would have to be registered though. I ought to look up how to that...

As for Quothorn, we'll have to take his silence as an affirmative.

Yeah. Good luck with that game, whatever happens in the whole publishing realm. It'll rock.
Maybe Quothorn'll be back soon. Think I remember him saying a long while back he'd be gone for 5-6 weeks in June-July? Took me a long time to connect that with his current absence. Funnily enough... I'll be talking to you again in a week's time, cause I'm going on holiday tomorrow. See ya.smiley - smiley

have you guys seen my campaign recently, it really needs more players, i've had to freeze it in the second episode. It's at http://www.geocities.com/megaslann/campaign.html

I would, except #1, I use an eldar army, and #2, my army currently consists of 16 partially painted guardians and 1 unassembled grav tank. Oh well.

Speaking of which, I noticed that in the codex, it says that the grav tank can be given many optional weapons, like a rocket launcher etc., but the model only came with a scatter laser. What the hell am I supposed to do if I don't want to use the scatter laser?

I suppose they either:

A) Want you to scratch-build new weapons for the thing... which sucks.

Or:

b) Are going to release new weapon packages for the thing... which would be pretty cool, but is the kind of thing they did years ago and never do now. Damn.

You know that Codex Armageddon book that's knocking about in the shops now - is that just for the campaign, or what? Seems odd.

I doubt they're going to release new weapons, the model is obviously pretty old... it came with a couple stat sheets that not only said it cost 193 points rather than the actual 100 (105? something like that), it also listed a large number of rules that aren't in the rulebook... I think the sheets date from before the last revision of the game.

I dunno about the armageddon thing... I haven't been watching it all that closely.

A thought occurs... I don't know if any of you are into first-person shooters. but theres a WH40k mod in the works for the game Half-Life in case you didn't know. It looks all right so far to me, you have any opinions if you've seen it?

The falcon is pritty old, though i thought they changed the box and stuff when the 3rd edition was released. They haven't released the options cos 1- it would probably cost to much and 2- they like giving people the chance to convert teir own models, which is why no army has the complete and full range of models available.

Its simple enough to change the weapons on a falcon, just use the weapons from a support platform and use moddling putty to fill in the rest.

The Codex armageddon has the army list for 3 new armies (i think u need other codexs as well though) and some background info on the armageddon wars.

Ah-ha. Is it any good at all?
I found Plastruct tubing handy for weapon conversions - gun barrels and the like.
And that Half-Life mod... I think it needs a lot of work. They've clearly got talented people working on it - the bolt-pistol and bolter models are seriously great - but the maps really, really need improving. The tanks are non-functional at the moment and there's no class system going on. But they may well have something there - it's early days, after all. Is the site for that still up and running, by the way? I can't seem to find it.

I dunno... I haven't checked it lately. Last I remeber they had just modeled the Chimera...

BTW, concerning my wargame rules, I know have a partner of sorts... I friend of mine who's more or less obsessed with war strategy. He's looked over my rules (as they exist so far) and is quite taken by them... a promising sign. I'll be working on it tonight and maybe post an updated version in a day or two.

Yes, I was on holiday. I've been back for nearly a week. Sorry guys, guess you missed me smiley - winkeye

Read conversation - hey, this Codex Armageddon need not be made redundant after the campaign is finished. It's not -that- bad a marketing ploy *^_^*. Wish they'd get their asses over to writing Codex: Cadians though.

What these rules for, Moonchild? Sorry, I'm lazy *^_^*. If they're THAT good I'll c 'em smiley - winkeye
