Hmm. Yes, for some reason I was thinking Gallium Arsenide, but I don't know why. So I didn't guess.

What would be the attraction of Gallium to Iron?

Ga has a charge of +3 and Iron is a transitional metal, so there might be some attraction. In the original version, the a was talking to the G, but then it seemed too confusing to break up the symbol.

Gallium has a configuration to fill 4p orbitals. But given that ferrous, Fe +2, is a transition metal it can only fill 3d orbitals.

I hate to sound completely ignorant, because it's true that I am, but what is an orbital and a p?

Are you talking about the shape of the molecules?

Not really molecules but plausable bonds between the elemental atoms. Orbitals are subshells of the atom where the electrons are. Only so many fit into each orbital. An s orbital holds 2, a p orbital holds 6, a d holds 10, and an f holds 14. The numbers in front indicate the order in which those subshells are filled with electrons shared with other atoms.
