Candy, or confections are foods prepared solely for their taste with little emphasis placed upon nutritional value. A staple ingredient in most any candy is sugar. Some examples of candy are:
Sweets
Also related to candy are sweets. Sweets are fairly synonymous with candy, however they are a broader category. Sweets can be pastry, dairy, fruit or most any type of food. Once again, the food is predominately defined as being a sweet by possessing sugar.
