Praline

1 Conversation

A confection of nuts and caramelised sugar that lives inside small shells of chocolate.

Praline was named after Field Marshall Cesar de Choiseul, Comte de Plessis-Praslin, who didn't invent it. His chef did, but his name was Louie Dunge, and was therefore deemed less suitable for the marketing of an edible confectionery. After initial marketing failures as 'The Dungball', the sweet was renamed and found its niche in the worlds food market.
