They may not save us from impending doom, though if you had the money im sure they could, but arent they really rather neat?

well i guess you could call a digital watch a counter clock, (i.e one that counts) which would mean that they do run counterclockwise. My Chem lab at shool has a analog clock that goes anticlockwise.
