May I register a particularly attractive and homely UK weevil common in the South East corner of Kent.
The Kentish Cat weevil - so named because of its remarkably furry back and incredible whiskers - can be an affectionate member of any household, particularly when it comes to getting its syrup rations, but is slightly standoffish at most times, keeping an independent spirit.
They are known to sleep all day and then party all night, and to return home in the morning bringing strange gifts of predominantly nuts and grains.

Sounds like a rather unusual weevil of dubious practical merit excepting, of course the gathering instincts (ie, the nocturnal harvesting of nuts and grains).
You've got a keen eye there, Frizz. Dashingly good bit of weevil-spotting.

I would have thought the willingness to party would be merit enough for any weevil And at least they bring their own snacks

You are correct. Weevils, after all, are freindly, party-loving creatures that just want to be your friend. Kentish Cat Weevils would be great to have at a BYOB (bring your own biscuits) party, especally for those unfortunate but plucky weevils who couldn't make it to the shops before they closed because they felt that they had to get the dishes done first.
