Fresh flowers are always a welcome hit at some florists , perfect sunflowers are in demand. Rosehips rose petals are in demand by naturalists. Weddings and parties can use a lot of greenery.
If you go chemical free there is a market for that.

A busy week is fast approaching. A few minutes in the garden before it starts might be just what I need.

Hypatia Posted Mar 21, 2005
The weather isn't cooperating with my schedule at the moment. And Good Friday is coming up. In my family we always sow our annual flower seeds on Good Friday. I suppose it's silly to carry on the tradition, especially as it has absolutely no scientific basis. But it makes me feel connected to my Grandfather, who I adored. So I absolutely have to get the beds ready. And it is raining. Sigh.

I'm a huge fan of science. But I don't think it currently has some answers that are already available in other places. The art of living does not conflict with science but it is mostly outside of it's focus. I think it is a really cool thing to do with tradition and your grandfather in mind. I hope the weather cooperates.

Good Luck with those seeds Hypatia
I love science but also love the spiritual side.
For me there are enough holes and room to move that they do not conflict in my head. I think both are at their best when combined

While listening to a couple of guys trying to sort it all out the other day, it occurred to me how much fun it is to have so many different perspectives on things. I thought I was listening to utter lunacy, myself, but was not, for a change, sitting in self-rightous judgement of them. Instead I found myself appreciating how these gentlemen were coloring in my world as they tried to understand theirs in earnest. People are cool and I'm glad they can talk.

A poem for nones in the garden
Where hearts do not close up or harden
Peace reigns supreme
And we're free to dream
Of universal love, hope, and pardon

I went to see Zen Master Ben
And spoke with old Ben about Zen
Sipped some Chai Tea
Talked of Tai Che
And then, with Ben, about Zen, again

By counting her breaths one, two, three
Visualizing a beach by the sea
And calming her mind
She's hoping to find
Peace, hope, devine serenity

Thanks for the poetry, Yogabiker. Please do continue.
Well, my library is dedicated and except for a couple of things impossible to complete until the weather has settled, it is finished. Hooray!
Our spring is later than normal. Good thing as I am just now finding time to garden. Yesterday I planted raspberries and strawberries, two apple trees and a cherry tree. My peach tre is in extremis, however and I don't know if I am going to be able to salvage igt or not.

Congrats on the library being finished!
That must have taken lots of hard work.
What lovely things you have planted and the timing working to your favor!

So nice to hear from both of you. Congratulations on the library Hypatia, and good luck with the gardening! I've planted a couple of things myself a few days ago. I'll tell you what they are as soon as I learn how to spell Rotodoendrens. I also sent a boatload of dandelions to the great beyond. I suspect they are in the great beyond right now getting friends to bring back to their front lawn of origin. Plant, fertilize, water, poison, la la la.

HELLOOOOOOOOO
HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Where the heck'd everyone go?
That is what I'd like to know
'Tis peaceful 'nuff here
But Mercy, Gosh, Dear!
I enjoyed your company so
Well here is what I've been up to
I've found something real cool to do
The library local
Is open to vocal
Renditions of poems from guess who
The public, which includes lil ole me
Where I rise to new found infamy
Telling limericks naughty
Loud, lewd and haughty
Shall they invite me back? We shall see
The worst ones were only PG
The best ones were just plain silly
To be a class clown
You just fool around
The name of the game's "Look At Me"
The other poets got me impressed
Their stories of lovers obsessed
Shame, guilt and rage
From kids half my age
Sad lonely, scared and depressed
Here's hoping you're both doing well
Any news you can feel free to tell
May peace walk with you
In all that you do
Through valley, stream, hilltop and dell

Hello and Bravo YB! for participating at the library with your poetry and no doubt your charming style. Great way to introduce more reading and fun to the children. And a way to be creative yourself!
I'll stop by again in the next couple of days.
I am sure I have some light poems you might like.
