QI - Sometimes They Don't Come Back

I do apologise, its a Saggar Maker's Bottom Knocker, rather than Sagger.

Geggs Posted Jun 25, 2010
Would it? Okay, I'm going to google this to make sure that I get it right.
A saggar is a stackable clay container that recently-made crockery would be placed into in order to place large quantities into a kiln. Making saggars is a skilled job, for which a trainer Saggar Maker is required. However, making the bases, or bottoms, of a saggar is not so skilled a job, and can be left to someone else. The clay for the basess would be knocked in a metal hoop in order to get the right shape.
So, the person creating the bases is a Saggar Maker's Bottom Knocker.

Thanks Geggs. About 40+ years ago my dad worked in the ceramics industry, which is where I'd heard of it from. I can remember him taking me to watch the kilns being fired up when I was very small. Don't suppose you'd be able to do that today.
I think it's way too far off course for points though.

Well, I could have hoped for some points for being interesting, but I gave up on that when I used to google to clarify the job description.
Ho hum.

Right, shall I wind this one up? I can't think of any more clues. It's a one word answer. It connects Thom Yorke, Franka Potente, and the gradual deformation of materials under a sustained load. Any takers?

I've got a line from a song in my head now: "You're a creep, you're a (something)". Is that a Radiohead song? Did Thom Yorke sing it?
