Hats Wearing
Kilted-biker-in-US Posted May 20, 2010
About hats dying out. My granddad wore a hat every day until he passed on in 1967. My dad and my uncles never wore them, except uncle Charlie who wore a trilby now and again. I tried a topper, a bowler, a trilby, a flat cap, and all sorts during the seventies, and was always the only one wearing a hat at all. As for the women, in my borough, mums and grans would tie on a scarf to keep the Aquanet from polluting the atmosphere but only church could make them put on a hat.
I get the impression that Ted Heath was the end of hats, or was it Radio Caroline?

I would point people at my home page, where I claim ownership of several hats.
In the chemist the other day the assistant said "I've never seen you without your hat before."
